Counseling for individuals, couples, and families
Counseling for individuals, couples, and families
At Game Farm Therapy, we believe that everyone has the ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that both physical and mental health is a direct outcome of healthy, connected relationships with ourselves and others, and that horses can be a powerful partner in teaching us how.
Through both traditional in-office sessions, as well as experiential Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), we offer a variety of counseling services to meet the unique needs of each client, including children (ages 9+), adolescents, and adults. Our clinical expertise includes a wide range of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, under-achievement, and relationship struggles.
Utilizing a systemic lens, we work with individuals, couples, and families by focusing on relationships (with each other and with horses!) to create real and lasting change. We are deeply invested in your healing process, and our hope is that you will always leave session feeling a little lighter than when you came in.

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy is a proven experiential therapy that involves partnering with a horse in order to gain valuable insight into your communication, attachment styles, boundary setting behaviors, assertiveness, and emotional regulation. If you choose to engage in EAP, you will get the opportunity to "choose" your very own horse to interact and build a relationship with week by week.
At Game Farm Therapy, we primarily focus on groundwork and building a relationship with the horse out of the saddle. Working alongside these magnificent animals creates confidence, teaches problem-solving skills, and offers new insight when dealing with intimidating or challenging situations. Whether a person does mounted work or not will be determined by the therapist, if deemed appropriate. Equine-assisted psychotherapy is NOT horseback riding lessons, however, we do offer lessons with a private trainer, if desired. Please speak to your therapist about this option.
No problem! The focus is not on horse knowledge or know-how, it’s on relationship, which we ALL have experience with - in one way or another. We also offer traditional in-office talk therapy for those who choose not to work with the horses, or when it's just too cold to be outside! This is your therapy, and YOU get to decide how it looks.
